Considering the recent problems we encoutered with comments, shall we shift to haloscan comments?

1. Easy posting as other comments are visible while posting.
2. And the most important is we can publish the comments feed.

Interesting. Just wanted to point out something I read recently about "social interface design""for example, the fact that we don't show you the post you're replying to while you type your reply in hopes of cutting down quoting, which makes it easier to read a thread"One thing I like about blogger comment is its pretty neat. When you post a link in the comment it doesn't get into google algorithm of link counting so spammers will keep out of blogger comment since they know they don't gain anything by posting links.
I am not sure whether haloscan can survive in the long run. From the time blogger has introduced commenting, haloscan subscription must be going down. If you look at babellog, comments have equal or more value than the initial post itself. I don't think we can afford to loose the comments at any cost if haloscan goes out of business.
Since blogger is keep on adding features I can only hope they will add feeds to comments also soon.

hmm, I'd like to say yes. and the comment feed is certainly a plus. The thing I dislike the most about Haloscan though is that there is no comment preview (that I can see). Irritates the heck outta me, because I never manage to get italic or bold tags right the first time :) I've not had too many problems with blogger comments myself, though. yet.
And Haloscan uses Javascript links, 88Pro. Google won't follow those, so it doesn't matter if URLs are escaped or not. That's much the same reason that I use Javascript for some of my links; to prevent crawlers from following links easily (yes, I know about robot nofollow ;).

by the way, Ed, we lose all the existing comments if we move to Haloscan. Not sure if you were aware of that :)
They won't import old blogger comments for a basic account.

I was aware of it. I planning on having the old comments as is removing the blogger comment at the time of posting. But I guess all that is rather messy.
So we'll not change the existing method considering the comments :).
I have enabled admin privs for all you boys and girls.

hmm, I'm somewhat surprised that you opted to keep Blogger on :) Haloscan is a lot easier/faster etc. Perhaps some alternate commenting service is the answer, something that will do imports. and provide a feed.
Another drawback for verbose (read: can't keep their mouth shut) posters such as myself; haloscan basic has a 1000 char limit. Not a big deal for most blogs; but we do tend to be rather wordy in babel, dont we ? :)

pros: nice interface, a bit easier to post without mucking up (unlike blogger) and comments have a separate feed. Also, uses Google so
cons: 1000 char limit, no comment import, no comment preview (not sure this is a big deal), separate service; which may have longevity or stability issues, potentially, and also, comments can't be retrieved or seen after 4 months.
